Lakshmi Mahadevan, PhD

Lakshmi Mahadevan earned her PhD in educational psychology with an emphasis in career development education from Texas A&M University. Her areas of expertise include multicultural career counseling, career assessment, addressing postsecondary options for at-risk youth and special education. As Assistant Professor and Extension Specialist—Special Populations, Mahadevan has 9 years of experience in developing and delivering face-to-face and online professional development with career and technical educators in Texas addressing various special populations–related issues. Her other activities include conducting program evaluation and preparing evaluation reports based on data analyses, conducting research on serving special populations, preparing newsletters, creating webcasts and special interest web materials, designing, maintaining and delivering online courses, collaborating with stakeholders and experts, and providing technical assistance to educators, parents/guardians, and other adults who work with youth.
